The 571/3 Cow Family
+Miss V8 571/3 at V8 RanchOrigins
At V8, our respect for the Brahman females has always been based on keeping females that produced daughters better than themselves. Our goal has always been to develop and breed the best set of females in the breed. One of the cornerstones of the now famous signature V8 look is +Miss V8 571/3. Born and raised on the ranch, she spent her lifetime at V8 producing great females time and time again. She was a dark pigmented female, one of the first in our herd, and a front pasture cow who was the definition of femininity. This cow and her offspring have spread throughout the world and those that owned them wanted more. She was inducted into the ABBA Register of Renown in 1993. Throughout her lifetime at V8, we retained 8 replacement females. We sold 17.5 sons and daughters out of her, which at the time of her death in 2003, averaged $15,750 each.
Lineage
+Miss V8 571/3 can be traced back to original ABBA foundation stock, originating with foundation cow Martha Ann 147. Her granddam, Miss V8 862 is also the dam of +Miss V8 400/2, the female that Sloan Williams gave his granddaughter Catherine to start her herd of V8 Brahmans.

What Makes Her Special?
She is the matriarch of a family that has 6 Register of Renown females. Two Daughters, +Miss V8 600/4 and +Miss V8 606/5 each produced International Champion Females. Finally, her dark pigment was always a conversation piece at the ranch. Often, someone will say they have a dark pigmented V8 animal in their herd. We can almost always predict — it stems from +Miss V8 571/3.
