The Made for Magic X sale, conducted December 9-10, 2024, showcased the continued strength and magnetism of V8 genetics, as six elite lots commanded an impressive $46,100 average on four full-interest and two half-interest offerings. This auction saw an increase in the number of bids, highlighting growing interest in V8 genetics. The event attracted many new bidders, including two first-time buyers, further demonstrating the enduring confidence both established and new buyers have in V8’s ability to produce influential breeding stock.
Partnership Bull Commands Top Dollar
Commanding the sale’s highest price at $60,250, Lot 6A featured Mr. V8 507/9, acquired by Jake Mathews of Ki Cattle Company, San Augustine, Texas. This January 2024 son of +Mr. V8 380/6 “The Machine” combines the time-tested genetics of V8 and JDH breeding programs with the look that has defined the V8 program for generations. The bull will be marketed as an AI sire in partnership between V8 Ranch and Ki Cattle Company.
Mathews, a valued repeat Made for Magic buyer, further demonstrated his commitment to V8 genetics by selecting Lot 2, Miss V8 991/9, for $35,250. This elite female, destined for his daughter Ivy’s program, is a full sister to V8’s lead show female Miss V8 761/9, and presents tremendous potential as a foundation donor.

Two standout females shared honors as the high-selling lots at $38,250:
Miss V8 992/9 found her new home with Bill Deaton of TCC Farms, Georgia. This V8 Superblend combines the proven genetics of the +Miss V8 805/6 and Miss V8 539/6 cow families, presenting the kind of phenotype that has defined the V8 program for decades.
Miss V8 994/9, the youngest female in the offering, caught the eye of first-time Made for Magic buyer Jonathon Travis of Texas. This Sloan Superblend from the +Miss V8 410/6 cow family exemplifies the breeding philosophy that has made V8 a leader in the industry.

Lot 3, Miss V8 974/9, presenting an exquisite double-bred magic pedigree from the +Miss V8 805/6 cow family, sold for $29,250 to Adrian Land of L2 Ranch, Branford, Florida. While this marked Adrian’s first Made for Magic purchase, his program has long valued V8 genetics, having previously co-owned International Champion +Miss V8 137/7 “Diva” and Reserve International Champion Miss V8 804/6
