We were excited to add Cannon as a young herd sire in our program the summer of 2011 after selecting him from Bob Hudgins. His first calves were born in fall 2012 and we were very impressed. One standout calf is Mr. V8 375/7, who is a future herd sire out of a +Mr. V8 380/6 daughter.
There are two big things we love about Cannon: his awesome pedigree and his depth of body. He is a muscular meat wagon and probably one of the deepest bulls we have seen in a long time. His pedigree stems from some of Hudgins’ Division greats. We love the Josiah bull, who is out of the famed Houston champion, Annisa Manso, who Jim made grand champion at San Antonio when she was shown for the very first time as a calf.
His dam is JDH Lady Red Ray Manso. We went down to Kyle & Tom’s in Bay City to look at his dam before we purchased Cannon. She is a very thick, deep bodied, strong topped female with the typical look you would expect from a Liberty daughter. So in all, he is a blend of Josiah, Elliott, Dakota, Liberty, Remington, and double bred Madison.
