This year, we proudly celebrate the newest additions to the Register of Renown program, a distinction awarded to Brahman sires and dams whose progeny have achieved excellence at ABBA-approved shows. 

These awards were officially presented at the 2025 ABBA Annual Membership Meeting, held on Wednesday, March 5, at 9:00 AM at the NRG Center in Houston, Texas during the Houston Livestock Show.

We’re thrilled to share the animals that achieved Register of Renown status proudly owned and exhibited by our customers:

“These awards represent years of intentional breeding, careful selection, and dedication from both V8 Ranch and our customers,” said Catherine Neumayr of V8 Ranch. “We take immense pride in seeing these cattle achieve success in the show ring and, more importantly, continue their influence in breeding programs around the world. The credit for these achievements belongs to their owners, who have managed and marketed them with excellence.”

Understanding the Register of Renown

The Register of Renown, one of the ABBA Genetic Merit Awards, recognizes sires and dams of champions at ABBA-sanctioned shows. Points are awarded based on offspring success in individual classes, champion drives, and group classes like Get of Sire and Produce of Dam.

To earn this distinction:

• Cows must accumulate at least 75 points from a minimum of two progeny.
• Bulls must accumulate 200 points from at least five get.
• Once inducted, cattle receive the “+” symbol before their registered name, signifying their place among the most influential producers in the breed.

With these latest inductees, V8 Ranch now has:

• 130 Register of Renown Females (+)
• 12 Maternal Merit Females (=)
• 35 Register of Renown Bulls (+)
• 3 Vanguard Sires (+)
• 1 Vanguard Female ($)
• 1 Maternal Performance Sire (=)

For a grand total of 182 ABBA Genetic Merit Award recipients, further reinforcing V8 Ranch’s leadership in elite Brahman breeding.
